Hello, I'm Rev Dr Ed O’Malley.

Rev Dr Ed O’Malley is an ordained Interfaith /Interspiritual minister, integrative sleep medicine specialist, master neurofeedback trainer, and trained Shaman and Naturalist. In 1992 he earned a PhD in Neurobiology at Cornell University Graduate School of Medical Sciences followed by postdoctoral research in EEG brain-mapping and a clinical fellowship culminating with board certification in Sleep Medicine at NYU School of Medicine Sleep Center. He was named Director of the Norwalk Hospital Sleep Disorders Center in 1996 where he started the nation’s first Insomnia Center utilizing evolutionary neurofeedback technology. In 2012 he founded Your Optimal Nature, to offer all his abilities in an education and consulting company. He creates programs that facilitate optimal states of awareness through direct experience of Spirit in the Natural World. Ed firmly believes that in order to sleep well, one must first live well, respecting the natural rhythms of Nature. In 2015 Rev Ed joined the faculty of the then Interspiritual Counseling Program (ISC) at One Spirit and in 2020 was selected to re-envision the ISC program. Together with two colleagues he created and now co-facilitates the Interspiritual Companioning & Counseling Program (ISCC). During the pandemic he returned to his earlier Buddhist studies via Bon Buddhism, Tibet's oldest spiritual tradition, It brings together a view and practice that grew from it's shamanic tantric roots into a full fledged Dzogchen path. One of the six paths he is drawn most to is Dream, and Sleep and Bardo Yoga. Rev Ed moves easily between the technological world and the natural/spiritual worlds. As an ordained Interfaith Minister, Shaman and Naturalist, Dr. O’Malley takes a broad approach to sleep and wellness. In today’s world that seems to move faster and faster, consuming all but the briefest periods of free time, Ed guides clients to slow down, becoming mindful of what really matters. He enjoys walking, hiking and wandering in Nature with his family, is an avid organic gardener and loves to sleep.

An excellent session! I had resigned myself to not being able to sleep properly again; thinking I'd tried it all to no avail, but Ed did a great job helping me understand the science behind sleep and that although I may be worn out, that I may not be sleepy! He explained the difference and gave me lots of useful tips and strategies to help me sleep. After 3 nights only of using a few of the suggestions, I can already see a difference! This is a must do workshop for all who struggle with sleep!!

I learned so much about how my sleep cycle works from a scientific perspective, as well as things I can do throughout the day to improve the quality of sleep I get. Highly recommend this if you are concerned about your sleep quality!
